Tropical Isles Utilities Corporation (TIUC) is a Florida Not-For-Profit Corporation established in July 2000. TIUC was established to own and operate the wastewater treatment facility that serves Tropical Isles Mobile Home Park.
TIUC is owned by ALL the residents of Tropical Isles by virtual of each residents acceptance of service from TIUC. Acceptance of service constitutes acceptance of the Wastewater Service Agreement.
The wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) or 'sewer plant' is located on land leased from Tropical Isles Co-op, Inc. Tropical Isles Co-op has no ownership interest in the WWTF itself.
Management of TIUC is vested in a Board of Directors. Four directors are elected by the membership at large and serve staggered three (3) year terms of office. The fifth director is appointed annually by the Board of Directors of Tropical Isles Co-op, Inc. as the owners of Tropical Isles Mobile Home Park.
