Tropical Isles Mobile Home Park is owned and operated by Tropical Isles Co-op, Inc., a Florida Not-For-Profit Corporation (the Co-op). The Co-op was formed by residents of Tropical Isles in December 2006. The Co-op completed the purchase and took ownership of the property on April 19, 2007.

The Co-op is owned by residents of the Tropical Isles Community. Ownership by residents insures that the property will not be converted to some use other than a manufactured home community without the involvement and consent of a majority of the Co-op owners. Indeed, the Co-op was formed and purchased the property to help protect residents from such an occurrence.

Tropical Isles is near the Indian River Estuary and the warm waters of the Atlantic Gulfstream. Residents and guests regularly enjoy the beaches.

Not into surf and sand? That's okay. Tropical Isles has a lovely swimming pool and hot tub right in the community. A majority of the residents are shareholders in the Tropical Isles Co-op. Shareholders enjoy numerous benefits including essentially all of the rights of real estate ownership in their manufactured home and the lot it sits on. Shareholders purchase their Co-op Parcel and then pay a relatively modest monthly maintenance fee to cover a portion of the costs of operating the community and its amenities.

Non-shareholders

Residents are not required to be Co-op Shareholders. Many residents prefer to lease the lot upon which their home is located on a year-to-year basis. While all of the communities amenities are available to non-shareholder residents, they do not enjoy the benefits of real estate ownership. The monthly lot rental amount for non-shareholders is substantially higher than the shareholders monthly maintenance fee.
