Tropical Isles Utilities Corporation (TIUC) is a Florida Not-For-Profit Corporation established in July 2000. TIUC was established to own and operate the wastewater treatment facility that serves Tropical Isles Mobile Home Park. TIUC is owned by ALL residents of Tropical Isles by the acceptance of service from TIUC by each resident. The wastewater treatment facility or "sewer plant" is located on land leased from Tropical Isles Co-op, Inc. Tropical Isles Co-op, Inc. has no ownership interest in the wastewater treatment facility. Management of TIUC is vested in a Board of Directors. Four directors are elected by the membership at large and serve staggered three (3) year tems of office. The fifth director is appointed annualy by the Board of Directors of Tropical Isles Co-op, Inc. as the owner of Tropical Isles Mobile Home Park. ELECTION OF DIRECTORS At the Annual Meeting of the Membership on February 9, 2008, four (4) Directors were elected to fill terms as follows: Three (3) year terms expiring at the Annual Meeting in 2011: Two (2) year terms expiring at the Annual Meeting in 2010: The elected Board of Directors held its 2009 Organizational Meeting on February 14, 2009. The purpose of this meeting was the selection of Corporate Officers.
